The new kid on the block that belongs to McLaren goes by the name of 570S. Launched as a ‘cheaper’ alternative to the rest of the line-up and as a direct challenger to Porsche’s 911 Turbo S, the Brit can now be configured via an online configurator that is live right now.
Therefore, in case you ever wanted a McLaren but couldn’t afford one because it was over $200,000, now you can go ahead and configure it, as you always dreamed of. Maybe go check you bank account first, just to be sure you’re not short a couple of grand.

The pricing starts at $184,900 in the US and £143,250 in the UK which is not a lot considering the performance of the 570S and that it has to go up against the likes of the previously mentioned Porsche. What are we talking about?

Well, the 570S has a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 under the bonnet making 570 HP and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque which is just 10 HP more than the Turbo S. The acceleration to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes just 3.2 seconds in the Macca, 0.1 seconds slower than the all-wheel-drive alternative from Stuttgart that is also around $2,000 more expensive.

These cars will duke it out on the track though because that’s what they were made for. If memory serves us well, the 570S would have to be a brilliant car to keep up with the Porsche but if anyone can do it, it’s the Surrey-based company is one of our favorites.

On the online configurator you’ll find that you can choose out of 17 different exterior colors, 10 different interior styles, six different paint choices for the brake calipers and even three different wheel styles with another three finishes available. Yes, it’s safe to assume that you can customize your car the right way.

The only problem with the configurator we could figure out is that it doesn’t offer a rough estimate of how much the car will cost with all your options on it. After you’re done you can save the configuration, and you’ll simply have to visit a dealer but hey, at least you get an idea of how it’s going to look like in the end.
