US car aficionados will soon be gathered under one high-octane umbrella at the 2015 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The list of go-fast brands that will thrill enthusiasts with their new and vintage offerings included names such as BMW, Jaguar or Porsche, but we’re here to talk about Ford. The 2017 Ford GT, to be more precise.
The Blue Oval will display its supercar at the upcoming event, so if you’ve missed the Detroit Motor Show debut back in January, this is an excellent chance to get up close and personal with that carbon fiber fuselage goodie.
The 2017 GT will be showcased alongside the historic GT40 races that showed Ferrari the finger back in the day, so the automotive racing history lesson is on the house.
It’s hard to imagine a contemporary occasion where Ford wouldn’t let the world bathe in its Shelby GT350 and this event will be no exception. The muscle car will be present. Now that we know the GT350R version can lap the Grattan Raceway just as fast as a Porsche 911 GT3, we’ll have plenty of stuff to discuss while around the vehicle.
Meanwhile, it seems like enthusiasts from around the country are on a car hunt. We’ve been treated with more and more sightings of the 2017 Ford GT. The most recent one, which took place earlier this week, resulted in a piece of footage that wets our appetite for the supercar.
Still, Ford has yet to disclose the exact technical details of the machine. All we know for now is that its carbon fiber construction will bring an amazing weight figure. Moreover, the V6 EcoBoost heart at the center of the supercar will deliver over 600 hp.
Oh and there’s also the racing version, which is just the right thing to think about when attending such an event - the celebration of speed is scheduled to take place at the Laguna Seca track, between August 13 and August 16.
