Alright now, give us some time and space to rub our eyes and maybe slap ourselves once or twice. Mercedes-AMG will start introducing autonomous technology in the future.
We've all seen and admired the Mercedes-Benz F 015 self-driving concept but AMG-badged cars that can drive themselves? Honestly, we didn't see that coming, and I'm willing to bet neither did you.

However, according to Motoring, Mercedes-AMG will explore the potential of autonomous driving on their performance models. The media outlet spoke to Mercedes-AMG chief Tobias Moers at the 2015 New York Motor Show, and the official had some intriguing comments to make.

"If I drive to the office in Stuttgart from Affalterbach and I can make my calls and look at my computer, that’s not a problem, even if I’m in an AMG. A lot of the time, driving is not so enjoyable or you have other priorities. But if I drive home from the office at 10:00 pm and the roads are clear, then I like to drive my AMG," Mr. Moers explained.

Such statement can be interpreted in so many ways, but the AMG boss seems to think that self-driving cars will not interfere with the fun ways performance models are built to explore. Although we understand that a connection to the future must be made, we're inclined to argue that some things are better left untouched.

And while autonomous driving is not a bad idea at all, what's the point in having an AMG model do all the driving?

Moreover, will there be a concept showing the world how a self-driving Mercedes-AMG could drive itself? Will it be based on the AMG GT? What would AMG clients have to say about this? The list of questions is quite long, and answers won't start popping up too soon, I'm afraid.
