Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 in Operation Beach Storm

Do you know anybody, and we do mean anybody, who likes people that drive their SUVs on the beach just because they can? If you do, it's time you erased that person from your life for good. Facebook included.
This is pure showing off that involves absolutely no skill other than that of realising where the sand is too soft and can't hold the weight of your car. And those who like to throw sand in the air with their tires sometimes fail to do even that.

And do you know why it pisses people off? First of all, it's because it's dangerous. People go to the beach to relax, and whoever has any, brings their kids along too. Would you cheer a guy spinning his somewhat out of control two-tone monster a few meters away from where your kid is building sand castles?

Second, as I've previously said, people go to the beach to relax. That means they want to sit peacefully and listen to the waves breaking or the sea gulls quarrelling, and not some engines revving for no good reason.

All this changes when the car in question is a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6. This veritable automotive unicorn is one of those cars that, unless you live in Dubai, you have every change of spending your whole lifetime without ever seeing one in person.

That being said, if the one time you happen to come across it is on a cold day at the beach, you'll be less inclined to get mad at the driver, and more so to pop out your phone, launch the camera app and begin recording.

You will soon see quite an audience building up around you doing the exact same thing. After all, it is a six-wheeled 3.7 tons behemoth that costs more than a supercar and is even more rare. Besides, the ease with which it coasts over the small sand tracks, with the dampers sucking in almost all of the shocks, can be a little fascinating. Not enough to watch the whole ten minutes video, but good for at least five of them.
