NBA Star Dwight Howard Wraps His 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT in The Flash

He may have signed with the Houston Rockets about two years ago, but it’s only recently the 6 ft 11 in (2.11 m) basketball player decided to switch from his Superman nickname. With his decision, the 26-year-old sportsman did not leave the world of superhero for good though, it’s just the character that changed. After all, a Dodge Challenger SRT covered in The Flash wrap seems legit for the muscle car.

In case you may not be up to date with what’s going on in sports these days, we’ll take a second to present you with some details. You see, people in the game claim Howard’s Superman nickname comes from winning the 2008 NBA slam dunk contest.

It was then when he received 78% of the fan’s votes via text messaging or online voting. And it’s no wonder they did so, considering he performed a series of innovative dunks said to have freshened up the contest. It’s then when he also donned a Superman cape for one of the dunks.

Others may as well claim the superhero factor has something to do with the NBA star’s big heart. After all, back in 2009, he was named one of the ten finalists for the Jefferson Awards for Public Service, which awards athletes for their charitable work.

Whatever the case may be, it seems that the three-time Defensive Player of the Year had decided to bring an end to that story.

According to TMZ Sports, the Houston Rockets star has decided to cover his new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with some heavy duty Flash-themed work. And the wrap is no accident, considering the 713 Motoring tuning shop’s boss himself said the sportsman no longer wanted to be called Superman since “he is now Flash out here in Houston”.
