Nissan is looking to take their A-game into the small hatchback segment with the Nissan Sway concept, ready to meet the public at Geneva 2015. Which makes us wonder, are we looking at the new Nissan Micra?
The dice have rolled for the Nissan Micra as French carmaker Renault revealed earlier this year that it will build the next Micra model in 2016. And we also know that Nissan took the decision of splitting the 2016 Micra into two separate models: one for the European market and the other for the Asian one.

And now, we get this from Nissan: a shady teaser-photo showing a small-hatch, but which looks like it is wearing a mask full of its big peers’ aggressive features, the current Qashqai and the new Pulsar.

Before we get over-excited by the augmented grille design and the aggressive daytime running lights above the LED headlights (yeah, poison does come in small bottles) let’s remember that this in only a concept and the final model could show a much milder look.

Anyway, we are left to hope that Nissan won’t apply any Nivea cream treatment on the concept’s styling. After all, you never know. And since we’re sick and tired with seeing all these teaser photos, let’s do some speculating.

Micra is now one of the long-lasting models in Nissan’s range in terms of design and equipment, after the Japanese carmaker decided to refresh the GT-R and the 370Z, along with the more-down-to-Earh Note, Leaf and Juke, not to mention new arrivals like the Qashqai, X-Trail and Pulsar.

Of course, patience dictates the game but we’ll be eager to see the Sway Concept making its debut in Geneva, because Nissan might have some aces up its sleeves to hot things up in the small hatchback league.
