Official LED Courtesy Lights with Audi Logo Now Available at €95, Here's How You Install Them

Courtesy lights. We honestly didn't even realize there was a light bulb at the bottom of the door sills. It serves no purpose other than to show everybody you have money to spend on weird options. But we guess the ladies will appreciate being able to see a puddle they're about to step in.

Official LED Courtesy Lights
Audi decided to follow the customization trend by offering custom LED courtesy lights that project those famous four rings onto the pavement.

They're available through the Audi Shop for €95. Honestly, we think it's a little expensive for a minor "fashion statement," since non-official counterparts sell on eBay for a quarter of that price.

However, it's reassuring to know that your local dealership is only too glad to install these goodies, so you don't have to worry about electrocuting yourself.

Up next, you're going to watch how easy it is to install LED courtesy lights. It only takes about one minute and requires no professional tools.

Of course, this feature is only suitable for cars that had courtesy lights to begin with. You or the previous owner of the vehicle need to have ordered the QQ1 or QQ0 interior light pack, a somewhat expensive option. But pretty much every A4, A5, A6, Q5 and 7 model from 2008 is compatible.

All the major automakers have recently taken vanity to the highest level. For example, Mercedes-Benz now offers an illuminated front emblem. Land Rover, meanwhile, has a courtesy light that's projected from the bottom of the wing mirrors.

While we generally think all these are a bad idea, that might be bitterness talking. Four rings projected on the ground are not as bad as 30-inch donk wheels or widebody kits for the Toyota Prius. Leave it to the Germans to make a subtle version of something really embarrassing!
