What, haven’t you heard already? Porsche is close to celebrating the 10 million mark. No, not cars, but likes on their official fan page, of course. Since it’s a big event, they decided to make one lucky fellow happy. And what better way to make a petrolhead happy than giving him the chance to drive one of the world’s most craved hybrid supercars currently on the market, the Porsche 918 Spyder?
What could be the road trip of his life, the 10M fan journey through the UK started two days ago. It will have Porsche Facebook fan Ingo Vendenberghe drive the 918 Spyder for 1,000 kilometers (621 miles). The Stuttgart company claims the Austrian Porsche fan will visit a series of top cultural and motoring landmarks.

At each stage of the 1,000-km journey, Porsche owners and enthusiasts will be invited to sign the car as a memento of its trip. And get this, the 918 Spyder won’t be the only eco-conscious celebrity involved in this trip since it will be joined by a Cayenne S E-Hybrid and Panamera S E-Hybrid. The journey started in central London and will tour Oxford, Wales and the Cotswolds before finishing at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone.

The route apparently has been chosen to demonstrate both the power and efficiency of Porsche E-Hybrid technology, “the ultimate expression of Porsche Intelligent Performance”. The vehicle was specially wrapped so that people can be signed at stops during the journey, not really the best idea ever, but that's just my opinion.

In case you wondered what Ingo had to do to win this special prize, Porsche says that fans were asked to identify the country and location of a landscape photograph, and the closest guess won this experience.

Yep, this fellow is enjoying a state-of-the-art machine powered by a bespoke 608 horsepower V8 petrol engine supported by an 115 kW electric motor driving the rear axle, and a further 95 kW e-juiced motor powering the front wheels. We’re talking about the chance to have an 887 horsepower beast at your disposal for an impressive 1,000-km trip. How cool is that?
