We're still waiting for Audi to stop all this marketing chit-chat and actual stop making the horrible old Q7. But while that move is pending we try to digest every bit of information we can find. And hidden among the press releases, we've managed to find a new color that's being launched together with this large SUV.
The German media website is calling it Tofanaweiß, which in English translates as Tofana White. The name is a nod to a mountain group in the Italian Dolomites, located south of the border with the Swiss. Most of the area is a barren but beautiful natural park with rocky outcrops covered in snow.

What's interesting is that the color seems to be based on Volkswagen's Oryx White, is used to great effect by the Golf 7 R.

Many buyers want a white SUV these days and Audi is presenting a Q7 TDI quattro model in the best light possible, by combining the S line body kit and large alloy wheels.

Another thing worth noting is that Audi's marketing team seems to be obsessed with mountains outside of Germany. The concept that previewed the first Q7 way back in 2003 was called "Pikes Peak" and when they launched it into production their photos used the same red mountain / desert setting you see here.

As long as we're talking about old versus new, we might mention the all-new Q7 uses aluminum to get rid of a massive 325 kilograms (712 lbs) of weight. With a TDI 3-liter diesel engine, the SUV weighs under 2 tons, making it the lightest in this class, Audi says.
