One particular problem the F10 M5 community has been facing is the severe security used for the ECUs in their cars. Specifically, tuners weren’t able to offer flash tuning because they couldn’t get past the firewalls put in place by BMW. Not anymore, apparently.
The guys over at AMS Alpha in collaboration with iND Distribution claim that they finally broke it and are now capable of flashing your car. For a price, of course.

According to them, “the first M5 to be tuned by AMS has yielded incredible results.” They also claim that the research and development process took no less than two years.

We, just as much as you, heard about AMS Alpha but mostly connected to cars like Evos and GT-Rs and they are not known as a BMW tuner, which makes this statement a bit peculiar:

“Combined with AMS’ incredible knowledge of tuning and engine control systems will now ensure that AMS performance software continues to be an industry leader in the F10 M5 market.”

Wait, what? Nobody in the BMW community will agree to that. GT-Rs? Sure, but when it comes to Bimmers, let’s be a little more modest, shall we?

Either way, they claim that the tune they have now on sale will raise the power output of the S63 4.4-liter V8 by 100 HP and 100 lb-ft (136 Nm) of torque which are impressive numbers. Put together, this would take the M5 up to 660 HP and 816 Nm (606 lb-ft) of torque which is absolutely impressive.

On top of that, breaking the ECU firewalls allows them to remove the top speed limiter and access to a better engine optimization than in the case of piggy back upgrades. The question is, are you willing to pay $3,000 for it considering you get no warranty?
