When a well versed automotive journalist climbs into an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster, he naturally compares its interior to that of a Ferrari California and finds the performance to be unsatisfactory when that of a C7 Corvette Stingray is also considered. Of course, that's not what the regular person who can't even afford to dream of owning an Aston thinks. For him, the British-built V8 roadster is like a wet dream, perfection that he one day hopes to experience for even a second.
The Youtube show Regular Car Reviews sort of started like that, with a regular dude who never owned anything expensive and liked to make really uncomfortable sexual or political jokes about crappy cars. And guess what? People went crazy for it. Slowly but surely, more and more folks gave him their cars to review, including a few old Porsches and some cheap modern sportscars.

So what did we take away from this review? Mr. Regular basically tells us he feels like he doesn't belong in this V8 Vantage Roadster, that it makes him feel very dirty and vulgar. It is nice though, from a pure driving experience point of view.

The Vantage is Aston Martin's most successful car ever, having been in production since 2005 in numerous configurations. Most Aston convertibles are designed to be softer, more comfortable. By sticking the "Roadster" badge on instead of "Volante", the Brits are telling us that this is still a true sportscar.

The junior model of the range is powered by a 4.7-liter dry-sumped V8 that produces a very naughty sound with the roof down and 380 hp at 7000 rpm. 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) takes 4.8 seconds, while the top speed is 178 mph (286 km/h)… if you're brave enough to go that high.

Enjoy the video and watch out for the humorous toilet conversations with Autoweek's Blake Rong about why people buy and drive such naughty, expensive cars.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
