Bugatti Veyron Fights Kawasaki Ninja H2 in Extreme Drag Race, Rider Short Shifts

When we met the Kawasaki Ninja H2 on the EICMA floor last year, we knew the time would come for the extreme bike to make it onto the streets and threaten hypercars. And yet nothing can prepare you for the moment when the two-wheeled insanity shows its rear end to a Bugatti Veyron.

This is exactly what happens in the video below, which shows the two machines racing on an airport runway. Despite the fact that it would’ve been interesting to see the H2 rider launching his bike to keep up with the Veyron’s all-wheel drive, the two prefer to go down the easy route, using a rolling start.

The Kawasaki easily takes down the Veyron, despite the rider not appearing to make the most out of the machine. For one thing, the guy short shifts the first three gears, while he doesn’t even lean enough to get under the windshield.

However, as we said, with 200 hp on tap, the bike easily does away with the hypercar. Sure, the Veyron would catch it in the top end area of the speedometer, but there aren’t too many roads in the world that would allow for such a thing to happen.

This Bugatti seems familiar, right?

In case this Veyron seems familiar, it’s probably thanks to the fact that you’ve seen it racing a heavily tuned E34 BMW M5 yesterday. Did we say “heavily tuned”? Sorry, we meant out-of-this-world.

The M5 in question was fitted with a turbo that was taken from a truck, with the wheel horsepower result being hilarious. In the mood for numbers? OK, we’ll mention the Bimmer had 900 whp.

Seeing the Veyron getting its posterior kicked shouldn’t come as a surprise. After all, Bugatti is almost ready to introduce its successor, the Chiron.
