In recent years, a lot of upmarket auction houses that deal with classic vehicles sold numerous so-called barn finds to collectors. But the term is not appropriate for the old-timer we’re talking about today. This Ferrari Daytona was uncovered after 25 years of sitting in a condo’s parking garage.
Thus, the 365 GTB/4 on hand will be referred to as a condo parking lot find. As I’m sure you know, the V12-engined grand tourer is one of the most desirable cars ever made by Ferrari. Penned by a great chap called Leonardo Fioravanti for Pininfarina, the Daytona was the last of its breed considering that 1973’s Berlinetta Boxer started the V12-powered mid-engined fashion.

So how come this 1971 Ferrari Daytona stood still in a parking lot for a quarter of a century? Well, a bloke called Patrick Sinn placed an order for one after it saw it at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show. To this day, Patrick remains the only owner of this beautiful Fezza. In the first 18 years of ownership, Mr. Sinn put roughly 56,000 miles (90,123 km) on this automotive classic.

Slated to go at auction at the Amelia Island sale next year in March

RM Auctions says that chassis #14385 might fetch over $500,000 (400,000 euros) because it is a desirable machine due to its originality. Sinn tells that the car’s been sitting still on blocks and under a beige cover since 1989. Now in his late 70s, Mr. Sinn chose to sell his Ferrari Daytona because he already has a Mercedes-Benz 280 SL and a Ford to drive.

Although the iconic Prancing Horse has been returned to running condition, it will require a whole lot of elbow grease and mechanical reconditioning before it will be ready for extensive road use. Trust us - if you’re in the market for the most original Daytona yet, this condo parking lot find with its 352 horsepower 4.4-liter V12 Weber carburetor-fed motor is as good as they come.
