India never ends to surprise us. After we saw that 230 hp Tata Nano last week, here comes this Batmobile replica built by Executive Modcar Trendz tuners in Mumbai.

We showed you some blueprints that talked about how to build yourself a Batmobile replica from Tim Burton’s “Batman Returns” not long ago, but we forgot what car you could use as a starting point.

The original Batmobile from the 1992 movie was built on a Chevrolet Impala chassis. But if you’re not living in the USA and importing one isn’t at hand, the tuners here say it can be built on a Mercedes-Benz S-Class as these photos from IndianAutosBlog show.

They haven’t given any specs of the car, nor the exact S-Class version it’s based on, but we can say it looks pretty damn convincing. The original car measures 260.7 in long (6.62 meters), 94.4 in (2.3 meters) wide and 51.2 (1.3 meters) in height.

In theory, the car is fueled by a jet turbine fed with high octane gasoline and paraffin mixture to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds on way to a top speed of 330 mph (531 km/h).

Of course, the spherical bombs, hidden Browning machine guns and other weapons are not included. But who cares about them with those Art Deco shapes created by Anton Furst?

We don’t know about you, but this thing here may just be many people's favorite Batmobile version, since it’s certainly far more... affordable compared to the original 1963 car that got sold for $137,000 at a recent auction.
