BBC Likely to Air Final Top Gear Episodes This Summer, Including Clarkson Footage

The whole Jeremy Clarkson fracas scandal left not only millions of fans of the Top Gear show stunned but also a couple of episodes unaired. As you may very well know, Jezza punched producer Oisin Tymon and got himself kicked out from the program.
Sure, the story is a lot more complex than it seems at first and over time we learned that there might’ve been a factor or two at play. In the whole unfolding of the events, it is now claimed that Jezza thought he had cancer at the time and was under a lot of stress. In the end, the BBC decided that punching a colleague, no matter of the circumstances, is inadmissible.

That’s how Jeremy Clarkson got himself fired, and the other two presenters, Richard Hammond and James May, refused to sign new deals with the British TV station. In the wake of these decisions, we were left without the final three episodes of season 22.

As it turns out, we might get to see them after all or at least part of them. Kim Shillinglaw, BBC Two’s controller, said that the scenes filmed before the fracas took place “are likely to air this summer.” That’s good news for fans of the TV show!

On top of that, she confirmed that the station is looking to bring the show back on air next year. That would imply replacing at least Clarkson if not the entire team. The BBC Two boss also said that she’s taking a female anchor into consideration as well.

One thing’s for sure though, without its lead man, Top Gear simply won’t be the same, no matter if May and Hammond carry on. In the meantime, Jezza is apparently planning on launching his own, new show, as per his new column in the Sunday Times where he wrote:

"I have lost my baby but I shall create another. Let's stop being silly and pick up the pieces and start again... I just know I'm going to do another car show."

Well, we’re all up for that, and we’re sure that wherever he’s going to continue, his best move would be to take his two friends/co-presenters with him. They surely have plenty of offers on the table. As for a BBC-created rival, allow us to be reluctant towards its success.
