Do you remember last year’s Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Maharajah? That Taj Mahal rollin’ on 21-inch wheels and yacht-inspired high life bits and bobs? As expected, the opulence game is still on in the ultra-luxury segment. This time, Bentley is the automotive company that has thrown the gauntlet.
Cue the Bentley Mulsanne Majestic. As any proper petrolhead knows, the Mulsanne nameplate was inspired by the famous straight bit of tarmac of the Circuit de la Sarthe’s 24 Hours of Le Mans race. As for Majestic, Merriam-Webster describes this word as “large and impressively beautiful.” Glancing at the vehicle on hand, only cataract would led you to believe that this isn’t a gargantuan metal luxobarge.

But beautiful? I’m not suggesting the limited edition Mulsanne Majestic is fugly, but beautiful is not the right word to describe its aesthetic presence. Tank-like, regal, imposing, palatial, resplendent are more fitting, but beautiful doesn’t hit the sweet spot. Still, look at it again and keep in mind the pictured car is just one of only 15 Bentley Mulsanne Majestic units that will ever be made. At Crewe. By craftsmen and craftswomen that take pride in the elegant Flying B.

As it happens, the Bentley Mulsanne Majestic is a made-for-Middle East special model. Out of the 15-unit pool, a third will go to the United Arab Emirates, another third to Saudi Arabia and the last five are en route to Qatar. The latter country’s Al Wajba Motors dealership was the place of unveiling for the Majestic. Every single unit is finished in Special Ivory with a fine line in Saddle to compliment the Mulsanne’s exoticism.

The Middle East theme continues in the interior with Magnolia seats, seat belts and panels that contrast neatly with the Dark Tan carpets, Magnolia binding and deep black curtains in the rear. Each Mulsanne Majestic includes an impressive array of high class features, including Majestic lettering inlaid on the rear iPad tables, further badging on the cup holder lid and waistrails and two loose cushions trimmed and piped in the same hide as the seats. Don't dare ask about the price though. Play the lotto first and then we talk.
