BMW Motorrad USA has revealed the prices of most of the 2015 and remaining 2014 model year bikes. We will still have to wait for the price of several models, as the German manufacturer only surfaced the price tags of the machines which have entered production in August, September and October.
The 2015 versions of the R1200 R, R1200RS, S1000RR, F800R and S1000XR will be announced in the coming months.

Like always, riders from Europe will look in anger at their North American fellows because the prices across the pond are noticeable lower than what one would see on the Old Continent. Still it is a bit surprising to see that the rebates for the 2014 model year machines are rather symbolic, more into the “you can’t say we’re not offering it for a lower price” zone.

We were expecting to see BMW more eager to try and get rid of the “old” ones, so to speak. All in all, if you’re a deal hunter, the biggest rebate comes with the MY14 G650GS bike, which can be had for a price $500 lower than what its 2015 model year sibling goes for.

Say goodbye to the HP4 in 2015

Three BMW machines have no replacements in 2015. They are the C 600 Sport, the G650GS Sertao, and BMW’s premium superbike, the HP4. The press release did not provide any information as of why has the HP4 been ditched for 2015, so it’s down to us to speculate and try to delve deeper into this.

Next week we’re meeting some BMW Motorrad guys and maybe we can get some info from them. Still, common sense allows us to speculate that Munich is not dropping the HP4 for good and is rather regrouping to provide the competition a ride for their money in 2016. The S1000RR was heavily updated for 2015, but makers such as Yamaha, MV Agusta, Kawasaki or Honda haven’t been idling either. Au contraire, they have actually revealed some very cool bikes, such as the all-new R1 and R1M, the racing version of the F4 RR, the Ninja H2 or the RC213V prototype, respectively.

BMW might just need some time to think things through and come up with a new proposal for the track-focused riders. We’ll keep you posted, anyway, so watch this space for more on this matter.

The cheapest and the most expensive BMWs

The cheapest machine which is not a maxi scooter remains the G650GS, which you can take home for $8,195 (or a tiny bit lower for the 2014 model year), while the most expensive bike is the 2015 version of the K1600GTL, setting you back with $29,995. For $45 bucks less, you can indulge yourself and get a 2014 K1600 Exclusive, of course.

BMW adds that even though certain models come with metallic paint as standard (R nineT), the C650GT maxi scooter will not be more expensive if you want metallic paint. The rest of the bikes will demand some extra cash between $50 and $150 if you want to go metallic.
