BMW production chart with updated F80 M3
As you all know, BMW is currently finishing up the facelifted F30 3 Series that will come out later this year, with plans to enter production this summer. The changes on the car will be rather drastic which makes sense considering that it’s their biggest seller and has been ever since the 3 Series moniker was invented.
What we didn’t expect however, was a facelift for the current M3 that has been in production for less than a year. That’s right, according to a leaked production chart, the F80 M3 will be getting a facelift as well at the same time with the 3 Series as the codename for the car in the chart is 8M93 which is different from the one the car has today: 3C93.

Don’t be alarmed though, current M3 owners, it’s not as big as on the 3 Series. To be perfectly frank, the changes will most likely be subtle and surrounding some cosmetic changes. The taillights will be changed with LED ones, just like we’ve seen on the facelift 3 Series prototypes and some iDrive upgrades could also be included and that will be it.

Over-the-air map update functionality will be included alongside other new tech like a parking assistant and active and passive safety features.

The 3 Series facelift will also get LED headlamps that are now available on almost all models in BMW’s range. Of course, they will be optional but we still have to wait and see if xenon ones will become standard and halogen lights will be completely taken out of the equation.
