Trust us when we tell you that the Sport button inside the new BMW M4 is only for the brave hearted drivers out there. That engine is simply unbelievable and thanks to its twin-turbo setup it renders turbo lag inexistent therefore, when you have 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) at the ready in a millisecond, you’d better be careful with the throttle.
That’s something the driver of the car in the video below probably didn’t expectand we totally understand him as we were rather reluctant ourselves when we first drove the M4. However, he is a better driver than it looks and here’s why.

As you can see in the video, he tries to slide the back end a little while racing on the Nurburgring and that’s not really hard to do. Just turn in a little more than you need and mash the throttle and the car will simply slide out. The trick is keeping it in check.

Such attempts can easily go awfully wrong. Just one second of panic or lack of attention and you can end up on the side of the road, possibly even with the car mangled pretty badly.

However, our driver here managed to keep things in check, even though he did shake up the passengers quite a bit while recovering from the drift. The trick here, in order to have a smooth exit, would’ve been to keep the throttle pressed and counter steer, then releasing the gas in a gradual manner.

That way, the Ferrari 458 driver in the back probably wouldn’t’ve had to change his pants... Just saying.
