He might not have a fleet as big as Floyd Mayweather, yet British boxer Amir Khan is among the sportsmen that like them fast and powerful. The former two time world champion recently added Mercedes’ performance flagship to his fleet, buying a new white Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG.
In case you thought rich boxers spend a fortune on cars only in US, think again, because it’s a thing that happens anywhere in the world. Sure, the youngest British Olympic boxing medalist is not as wealthy, but he’s sure aiming that way. In fact, Khan has constantly announced his wishes to meet Floyd Mayweather in the ring. It was last year in December, at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he won over American Devon Alexander. After his victoy he once again reiterated his desire to fight the undefeated pro.
So if he can’t fight him in the ring that doesn’t mean he can’t replicate Mayweather’s lifestyle. The new ride, he is believed to have spent £100,000 ($153,000) on, is joining an impressive fleet that includes beauties such as the Bentley Continental, two Range Rovers and an Audi R8. Sure, that AMG 5.5-liter biturbo V8 engine can’t harm, after all we’re talking about an output of 585 horsepower and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque.
The only thing we can think of is whether all that power will really help him behave on the road, considering his driving record and all. In case you didn’t know, Khan has quite a collection of motoring offenses and incidents which include having his driver’s license banned for a couple of times for speeding and careless driving.
