I was shocked a few weeks ago to learn that Brembo brakes aren't that expensive. One of my friends only paid about €200 for a full set of discs and pads on his Clio RS 172.
Still, I know some guys who would only spend that much on a whole car. They're the type of folks who might appreciate a set of four "Brembo style 3D universal big brake caliper covers".
That's what we recently found on eBay and, considering they only cost £5 ($6), they're a real bargain. In fact, they are so cheap that we think this is a scam and if you order this, you're going to get parts for toy cars or a picture of somebody's armpit.
Regardless, we're still going to tell all about this product. At least it's worth a good laugh if nothing else.
With every kit, you're supposed to get two 240mm tall pieces of plastic for the front rotor and two 190mm ones for the rear. You glue them on and they are supposed to cope with the heat and the stress of motoring without any problems.
That's the theory, but we read from plenty of people who say their calipers are overheating because of these weird plastic covers on various forums. Everybody knows that hot brakes are bad because they don't do their job as well. So instead of worrying about how your car looks, you should first consider how it works.
Anyway, we found a video where a guy installs a set of yellow Brembo covers on his Mazda RX-8. We wouldn't even waste 50 cents on this, but don't take our word for it.
