When he took a part in the Corrie Goes to Kenya documentary, he said his time in the African country changed him as a person and made him realize how much he has in life. But when the government asks him to pay taxes, Ryan Thomas rather goes bankrupt. That didn’t stop him from buying a brand new Mercedes SL, however.
But who is this guy, in the first place? If you’re asking this particular question it means you never heard of famous British soap opera Coronation Street. It’s only one of the oldest TV series running for more than 50 years. Ryan Thomas is best known for playing the character Jason Grimshaw on the ITV series.
It turns out being famous and successful in soap operas in the UK does not work that good as reality television series in the US, since Thomas found out that he could go bankrupt. It would seem some “bad investments” made the actor owe £40,000 ($62,000) in unpaid tax.
The bomb dropped last year, in October, but Ryan managed to settle an agreement, vowing he’ll clear all his debts in under 12 months. Reports are tax bosses recently gave him a few months longer to pay up, but it wouldn’t seem any of these problems seem to stop him from buying a new luxury sportscar.
At least now we know what we need to do to delay those taxes one day: be famous.

And we all know what Mercedes’ grand tourer stands for: definitely not bankruptcy. Just take a quick trip to the automaker’s website in the UK and look it up, the cheapest price you’ll get won’t be lower than £72,500 (EUR 92,285).At least now we know what we need to do to delay those taxes one day: be famous.
