But when you’re off game, out there, in the real world, they’re watching you like a diamond in the jewelry store. Every step you make, you’d better pay attention.
We, in the US, may be calling football soccer, but if there’s one sport Europeans love, this is it. British supporters are perhaps one of the most ferocious, they can both love and hate big time, so the least you can do is cover your tracks. Because, let’s face it, we’ve been there before. Parking in these places is the worst thing you can do as a proper motorist, but sometimes you do bad things, even if you know you shouldn’t.
While any of us, regular petrolheads, would pass unnoticed, when you’re one of the best central defenders of your generation, people will know. John Terry was having an average day over the weekend, when for some reason he placed his luxury SUV on a parking space for persons with disabilities. According to The Mirror, it was right in front of a kebab store in Esher, Surrey, but when photogs are after you, there’s no place you can hide.
What’s even worse for his people back at the football club, is that Terry was also wearing the team’s colors, thus making sure everybody knows it’s him doing the wrong. Like most of the famous footballers out there, Terry has been involved in similar deeds before. Back in 2008, he was fined £130 ($198 at the current exchange rate) for illegal parking, with Chelsea’s captain later promising not to do it again.
Parking wrongfully isn’t even the worst that can happen with Terry. We just recalled of his little I-don’t-give-a-rats-butt moment the Chelsea star had back in 2013. This defender was heading home in his silver Continental GT when he was caught in traffic on the A3 motorway for over half an hour. He decided to leave the car on the highway and leave the scene. You know what the best part was? He was 3 miles (5 km) away from his house in Surrey.
