You must have had one of those moments when you desperately wanted something but couldn’t afford it. This Chinese farmer surely went through the same experience, but instead of giving up he DiY-ed his dream into reality - built himself a tank.
Chinese farmer Li Guojun has always been interested in military toys, especially tanks. His childhood passion for them pushed him building a couple of life-sized fully functional ones recently. And he did that without knowing much about military engineering or finding information on the Internet. He doesn’t even has access to an internet connection.

“To be honest, it wasn’t that difficult to do,” said Li. “I simply needed to make the same parts that the model had, but much larger.”

A fellow military tank enthusiast helped Li with his project now spending their free time driving the two tracked vehicles around their village in Kangping County, Liaoning Province in northeast China.

After several attempts to build their tanks, which kinda’ failed and the machines got scraped, they finally ended up with models 008 and 009 that are fully functional and able to go as fast as 12 mph (19 km/h) over any kind of terrain.

However, due to legal and safety reasons, the tanks provides no firepower, that barrel being only a simple pipe without a chamber for ammunition. The turret also appears to be fixed.
