Chrome McLaren P1 Stuns London, Comes from McLaren Special Operations

One of the most valuable assets of a racing driver lies in the constant nature of the delivered performance. Even so, try to imagine Ayrton Senna, for instance, having a better day on the track compared to his usual, brilliant stints, if we may call them so.

The story is the same with the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division. Woking's tailor, as we like to call the company's personalization arm, is the kind of entity that was born for purposes such as making the P1 in the video below stand out among the rest of the 374 units the Brits built.

And when we're talking about something that can be described as a factory chrome finish, we're tempted to read between the lines and see a carmaker that's making sure tuners don't turn to the wrap industry to take advantage of its business.

Since we're talking McLaren, precision needs to be a top priority, so we'll get into the details of the eye-catching color scheme. While the body of the hybrid hypercar is dressed in Silver Chrome, it also sports Orange accents, such as the ones that can be seen on the rear diffuser.

The unique P1 was spotted earlier this year in London. And despite Britain's flagship city being one of the world's supercar capitals, its traffic can easily turn against it.

For instance, there's a part of the footage that shows the P1 being just as effective as navigating the car mayhem in London as the garbage truck next to it.

Fortunately, this is the kind of machine that is also allowed to stretch its mechanical legs on the track, with the gas-electric Mac having previously been spotted on the Ascari race track. And we can easily imagine how it feels to look in your rear-view mirror and see the... mirror-like finish of this hybrid approaching faster than you'd wish it to.
