Compact Entry Level 3-Door Tesla? Yes, Please

It all started with the Roadster model in 2008, Tesla Motors’ first production car, an all-electric lithium-ion battery-powered roadster that could go over 200 miles (320 km) per charge. In early 2012, the production ended and the company moved to a bigger segment - luxury sedans.
That’s how the Model S came by, the most expensive and also the coolest electric sedan money can buy you now. This car is like the iPhone of the automotive world - price, looks and ideology included.

And when we’re saying “ideology” we want to say that Tesla is following Apple’s business idea and sells its own products directly to customers. A thing that’s not tolerated in the automotive world unfortunately, where there’s a dealerships union protected by laws and such, that doesn’t allow manufacturers to sell cars without an intermediate.

This matter is indeed troubling Tesla in some states, but even so, the company keeps it going and amazes us with future plans and newly revealed products, such as the Model X compact crossover and the all-wheel drive Dual Motor Model S, which also doubles as the world fastest production sedan.

Tesla said it will add a third Model III to its lineup soon, which should be a compact luxury sedan, competitively priced against the the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C Class or Audi A4. But at some point, the company should put out an even smaller entry level model, aimed towards clients that need city mobility.

We’re thinking of a compact sexy three-door hatch Tesla model, which will hopefully look like this awesome sketch done by talented Youtubber Yasid. Just check it out after the jump and imagine pulling over to your favorite restaurant in this little beauty.
