Made in Pitesti, Romania, the Dacia Duster is a low-cost compact sport utility vehicle produced with the help of parent company Renault. Riding on a mildly updated platform of the Clio Mk2, the Duster is now available in Commercial format for small businesses.

According to the Romanian manufacturer, this is the first factory-produced light commercial vehicle based on the Duster. In essence, Commercial stands for the deletion of the rear seats for up to 1,150 liters (40.61 cubic feet) of cargo capacity and a maximum payload of 550 kg (1,212 lbs). Not bad, all things considered.

Andy Heiron, Dacia brand manager in the United Kingdom, is pretty excited about the Commercial: “Our aim is to bring Duster – the Renault Group’s global best-seller – to the UK’s van buyers in true Dacia style with a value-for-money product and transparent pricing.” Now for the big one: what about pricing and power?

Well, the get-up-and-go department features a sole engine option - the 1.5-liter dCi 110 turbo diesel. In this tune, the four-banger produces 107 horsepower and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque. Standard equipment also includes electric front windows, a four-speaker audio system with Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity, joined by traction & stability control and four airbags.

On the pricing front, the base 2015 Dacia Duster Commercial Ambiance dCi 110 4x2 is priced at £9,595 excluding VAT and OTR charges. The 4x4 equivalent of the same trim level costs £11,295. If entry-level isn’t in your business’ vocabulary, then you may be interested in the Laureate 4x2 and 4x4 grades, costing £10,845 and £12,545, respectively.
