Ever wondered what would happen if Darth Vader would have to turn to driving? And to make things even more off, let’s say he’d find himself in the middle of a drag racing session.
He’d probably bash the stellar dust out of his opponents and drive a blacked-out Subaru Impreza STI.

Wait, what? Why an Impreza?

Well, we’re not the ones saying this, the video below is. There are no Stormtroopers or Millenium Falcon here, just a murdered Scoobie that manages to impress on the drag strip.

The car’s 2.5-liter boxer engine work with a 67mm turbine, while the stock transmission features a built clutch. As for the connection to the tarmac, this is provided by drag radials, which are wrapped around beadlock rims.

And yes, the starts are just as delicious to watch as you’d expect, with the intelligent all-wheel drive of the vehicle managing to find grip easily. Factor in the prepped surface and you end up with blistering take-offs.

As we said, this driver likes to row through the gears, so his passes are filled with adrenaline.

Numbers, we have to talk numbers

Sure, hitting the strips in your Vader STI is fun, but, in the end, it’s all about the numbers. When it comes to the quarter mile pass, the car can complete the run in 9.91s.

However, the owner is working to improve the vehicle and so expecting this Subaru to bring low nine-second passes is what we should be doing. For one thing, the clutch has plenty of passes on it. Then again, this has allowed the guy to practice his launches, so it was all for the better.

And yes, the sweet soundtrack usually associated with Subaru’s flat-fours is obviously present. The aural force is strong with this one.
