What comes around goes around, they say, and in a way, this is exactly how thing happened with Grand Prix racing in the UK. After Silverstone lost the MotoGP deal last year, it’s now time to see Dorna and the Circuit of Wales asking as nicely as it gets if… they could welcome back the UK round.
Yesterday we reported that the deal between the Circuit of Wales and Donington circuit went down in flames. A press release from Donington Park Racing Limited indicated that the Circuit of Wales failed to make the payments stipulated in the initial deal. The situation hampered the preparation Donigton officials had to make in order to make the venue fully-compliant with the sporting requirements and all.
We also learned that talks with Silverstone were already on their way, as this was the natural alternative for an event of such size, and today we have official confirmation. Depending on how quickly the Circuit of Wales can make things work, we might have to wait one more year until MotoGP action arrives at the new venue. CoW officials initially estimated that 2016 could see the debut of the British MotoGP round at the new track, but things are far from being in any sort of straight line.
Michael Carrick, Chief Executive of Circuit of Wales’ own words are very clear in this matter: "We continue to advance our development activity on the Circuit of Wales and are focused on the upcoming public inquiry into the deregistration of the common land. We expect construction to commence once this inquiry has concluded."
So MotoGP fans in the UK and those who plan to attend the British round this year should get their flight tickets changed for Silverstone instead of Donington, as August 28-30 brings once ore the roar of the fastest road-racing machines.

Family deals for MotoGP and F1 at Silverstone
2015 will again be a very interesting year for the Silverstone circuit, as it will host both Formula 1 and MotoGP British rounds.
