The famous high-speed railway service connecting London with Paris and Brussels has recently celebrated 20 years of existence. With this occasion Eurostar has unveiled the newly designed high-speed passenger e320 train by Pininfarina. Capable of reaching speeds of up to 200mph (320 km/h) the new train has room for 900 passengers. The company is also planning to expand its services to further European cities. Famous for their iconic car designs, in recent years Pininfarina has rather extended their services to several other ventures, such as luxury trains and even collectable bicycles. The new e320 boosts capacity of the current trains by 20%. Its external livery and interiors were designed by the famous Italian house. Reports are the new train boast many innovative features aimed at maximizing energy efficiency and delivering an enhanced experience for travelers, such as a WiFi portal that will provide a range of information and entertainment including live news feeds and weather reports. Not only will they remain connected to the internet, but customers will also enjoy more space per seat, as each one is equipped with power points and a USB socket. More leg room, future destinations
According to Dezeen, who interviewed Pininfarina creative director Fabio Filippini, thinner seats will offer passengers more leg room, while private booths with translucent glass screens will be available to business-class passengers. In the buffet car, a curved white bar with rounded corners gives a "subtle sense of elegance" to the space.

Eurostar claims their services are about to develop further, as the company is considering to operate across the diverse European signaling systems, opening up the possibility to offer high-speed trains services between the UK and other European city centers.

Their plans are to expand the company’s current routes adding a new year-round service to Provence, Lyon, Avignon and Marseille by May next year. In a two-year time Eurostar also hopes to create direct routes to Amsterdam with stops in Antwerp, Rotterdam and Schiphol are set to start late 2016.
