Despite their age, Mitsubishi Lancer Evos from the pre-X generation are still putting up quite a fight and today we’re here to bring you the latest example of that. We want to show you a highly customised Evo IX that has gone mental and is now racing a pair of 1-liter motorcycles.
Did we say 1L motorcycles? We meant to say tuned 1-liter bikes. The only issue here is that these guys battle it out on public roads, but street racing will always be street racing.

The first bike is a BMW S1000RR that screams “tuned” thanks to the fact that its swing arm has been elongated while the bike also rides lower. The 999cc engine was clearly taken past the standard 193 hp rating. The reasons that stand behind this? A Bazzaz tune, a custom exhaust system and longer gearing.

As for the second motorcycle, this is a Honda CBR 1000RR. The heart of the bike now features a custom intake, timing tweaks, a custom exhaust, as well as tricked-out gearing. The exact mods of the bike are not mentioned, but we know for a fact that a CBR 1000RR doesn’t play in the same league with an S1000RR in stock form. This means this is now beating far from its 171 hp stock form.

This Evo features a Ronnie Crawford-built engine, with an FP Super 94-mm turbocharger and runs on E85. We aren’t given the exact output figure, but we do know that turbo is feeding the four-cylinder at over 50 PSI. Usually when this happens, power claims to about 1,000 hp at the wheels.

Further down the power line, we find a Drenth-supplied sequential gearbox with an HKS 4.11 final drive.

We won’t go into the details of the racing that goes on in the video, but we can tell you at least one of the three men here was a little ambitious.
