ENLAES is a rather new name on the BMW-tuning scene. The company founded by John Morgan Evans and Alex Weld is ambitious nonetheless and wants to prove its worth way ahead of schedule. Therefore, this batch of photos featuring their program for the F13 M6 (pre-facelift) should shed some light into how they want to do this.
The focus is on creating a better looking package for the M model without taking away any of the aerodynamics. That being said, when developing, the proper care has to be offered to both aspects.
Under the bonnet of an M6 lies a 4.4-liter V8 with two turbochargers, taken up to 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque that will take the near two-ton monster up to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just a bit more than four seconds.
Therefore, such a high level of power demands proper aero parts as well. The fit and finish seems perfect but we’re not sure about the design. Both up front and in the back, the splitter and the diffuser look a bit too aggressive and have hard edges all around.
They’re made of carbon fiber so that the added weight is kept to a minimum but some more subtlety could’ve been of help here. Other add-ons include new side skirts with aero blades and a boot lid spoiler that should increase the downforce on the rear axle by a small amount at high speeds.
Bottom line, it looks to me like the guys are on the right track but they have to take a step back and look at the car as a whole and not only the certain areas that they want to improve. That being said, the M6 deserves a bit more class than this.
