Honda has just released official info on the 2015 model year CBR500R, now available in a new Millennium Red livery. A sport-faired member of the half-liter platform family which includes the CB500F and the adventure sport CB500X machines, the CBR500R shares the ease of use, adaptability and agility with its siblings.
The 2015 Honda CBR500R was engineered with the average riders in mind, and blends in everyday rideability with the sport-natured nimble character. This means that taking the bike to a racetrack during the weekend will also provide the rider with a rewarding experience. However, the best thing about this parallel twin is that it is A2-license compliant.

With a peak power of 35 kW (46.9 hp), the new Honda CBR500R is a wonderful step up from the 125cc or quarter-liter machines, as well as a neat choice for adults who want to start riding. The 471cc mill delivers the top power figure at 8,500 revs, while the peak torque of 43 Nm (31.7 lb-ft) is reached at 7,000 rpm. The chain final drive is coupled to the engine by a manual 6-speed transmission and a wet multidisc clutch as part of a classic, proven recipe.

The diamond steel frame rolls on 17” multi-spoke cast aluminium wheels, a 41mm conventional fork and a 9-way preload adjustable Prolink monoshock. The braking system employs a single 320mm wave rotor in the front, squeezed by a 2-piston caliper, and accompanied by a 240mm disc and a 1-piston caliper in the rear. The 2015 CBR500R comes with ABS as standard (in Europe).

Readouts on essential bike and ride data are displayed on a digital dashboard which provides info by means of a digital speedometer, digital bar graph tachometer, dual trip meters, fuel level gauge and fuel consumption, as well as a digital clock. The 194kg (428 lb) kerb weight is not exactly MotoGP territory, but neither is this scary.

No prices have been announced so far, and we are expecting such info to surface later. The new Millennium Red is complemented by two of the older color schemes, Pearl Himalayas White and
Graphite Black. A comprehensive range of accessories is also available for the 2015 Honda CB500R, and it includes:

Panniers (with moving system)
Rear carrier
Top box
High windscreen
Seat cowl
Chain case
U-lock
Tank pad
Heated grips (12A)
Cover.
