While people fly hoping they at least get a soda for free, chances of actually getting a comfortable seat are more likely something for the upper class nowadays. Confident that sleep is the luxury frequent fliers crave most, Qantas Airways has recently unveiled their own-design seats that let passengers recline from the moment they board until their plane lands.
Unless you're a rock star flying with you personal aircraft it’s most likely you won’t get a proper seat to relax and even take a good old nap. Even if you'd afford always flying business class, it's still not that cosy. At least that is what this company believes.

You relax the whole way

Qantas’ new seating option allows reclined flying from the moment you board to the moment you leave. The comfy seats recline as much as 25 degrees for international flights, and 21 degrees in Australia, even during take off and landing.

These seats were designed by Thompson Aero Seating from Belfast and include an over-the-shoulder safety belt like the one in your car, which can withstand up to 16 Gs of force. Once the plane reaches the cruising altitude, they changed their position to a fully flat position.

Even though the seats have taken 18 months of work and are now ready to be used in Australia’s airlines, they still need to be approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia. Reports are they will get the free pass this December and will be installed on Qantas’ domestic Airbus A330s, with international flights starting on in January.
