The tuning projects from xXx Performance never disappoint. The shop probably makes the coolest R8 in the world and has released something extra special for this year's Essen Motor Show, a Ferrari 488 GTB.
Yes, that's 488, not 458. That means we are dealing with a brand new 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 that, when left to its own devices, produces 670 hp and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft). It should be enough to scare McLaren's 650S, but xXx Performance wanted more.

The Stage 1 kit increases those numbers to a modest 750 hp and 830 Nm (613 lb-ft). The next stage adds another 100 hp and unleashes a pointless amount of torque, 930 Nm (687 lb-ft). Finally, Stage 3 unlocks over 1,000 hp and 1,250 Nm (923 lb-ft). It should be illegal to get that much power from a 3.9L engine!

Keep in mind that when the Gallardo came out, it only had 500 horsepower. For extra visual kicks, xXx Performance asked Vossen for a set of their custom wheels. The Miami company sent over gold alloys that measured 21x9 inches at the front and 21x12.5 inches at the rear, plus a professional photographer. That's why we have such crisp photos from the Essen Motor Show of this kickass Ferrari.

Even though the 488 GTB just came out of the factory in Maranello and had immaculate paint, the tuning company decided to cover it with a red satin wrap and black carbon-fiber finish for the front splitter, side mirrors, and side skirt flics. The roof and pillars are wrapped in matte black.

The suspension system has been lowered by 35 mm thanks to a new set of springs, and there’s also a hydraulic lift system to increase ground clearance when approaching speed traps.

Right now, this is probably the most exciting tuning project for the Ferrari 488 GTB supercar. Alpha-N Performance also recently released something, but its version only goes up to 790 hp. We are eagerly awaiting the debut of the first wide-body packages for the upgraded Italian machine.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
