Throwing your suitcase in the trunk and driving to destination is the best way of traveling if you ask us, but then again, people also like to party, reason why they’ll get the train or a plane to the destination to spare some time. This can be a pain in the arse sometimes. Worry not though because this smart suitcase will come and spare you of the unpleasant experiences you could get when you're separated from your beloved car.
The project appeared on Indiegogo a while ago and judging on its success, you should be able to get your hands on one starting next year. The Bluesmart, as it has been named, managed to raise over $1.7 million (€1.3 million) from enthusiasts, surpassing the first $50,000 (€40,800) goal by about 34 times.
For example, there’s a built-in scale in the handle that weighs the luggage and shows the result on the phone so you’ll know where you’ll stack up at the airport even before you leave the house.
But that’s just a minor thing compared to the fact it will tell you what to pack depending on the weather at the destination, give you proximity notifications to remind you pick it up, a digital-controlled lock, location tracking so you won’t lose it, travel assistant and even a built-in battery to charge your electronics while on the go.
The Bluesmart is expected to retail at about $500 with deliveries starting next June. Better start saving for your summer trip already.
