What do the Formula One industry and the aeronautic one have in common? Carbon fiber, will all of you hypercar fans say, and you would be right. Aerodynamics would be another thing both share in terms of design. Marketing and using the celebrity factor to promote their services are also part of these shared features.
Nico Hulkenberg is the Formula One driver who won this year’s Le Mans-24 hours race. But it’s not just the track where he’ll show his power to resist speed and long hours competitions. Starting this year, he’ll also be hitting the skies, and that’s because GlobeAir, the leading European air taxi company, decided to have him on board.

The decision to approach Nico Hulkenberg and associate our image with the racing driver, allows us to convey to the public the values of our company and the strengths that differentiate GlobeAir from our competitors,” said Mauro De Rosa, Chief Marketing Officer of the airline.

With this, the company has announced that is has undertaken for 2015 marketing and communication activities aimed at consolidating their business on the international scene. Enough with the commercial factor though, let us look a bit closer at the driver’s records for a change.

In 2009, he became the champion of the GP2 Series, having previously won both the Formula 3 Euro Series and A1 Grand Prix, as part of A1 Team Germany. The fact Hulkenberg won the GP2 Series championship in his debut season is quite a big deal considering this puts him next to Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

He may not be driving as the Brit champ yet, but some expect him to take the podium soon, so you’d better watch out.
