Usually when you take a car like the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and play around the engine bay, you don’t expect this to get you out of trouble when crossing paths with the police. Actually, such practices lead to the opposite result, simply due to their influence on your right foot’s behaviour.
Nevertheless, there are always exceptions that confirm the rule and we are here to talk about a rather hilarious one. As you can see in the pic above, the Shelby we are talking about has a nicely-decorated engine compartment, a treat that was appreciated by a cop who had just pulled the snake over.
The officer pulled out his mobile phone and snapped a few photos. After all, there was plenty of stuff to be photographed - the Cobra decorating the lower side of the raised hood, along with the factory-fitted blower and all the the custom bits over there.
We’re not quite sure about that front fascia splitter though. You see, muscle cars have always included a bit of practicality in their melange of assets and the stock chin of the 2014 Shelby GT500 is low enough. Then again, this is a case of... de gustibus non est disputandum.
The feat took place in... you guessed it... Canada, so while we did mention this happening as an exception, perhaps we rushed to that conclusion.
PS: the Charger Pursuit in the background doesn’t seem all that happy about his master snapping the engine bay of the ’Stang. We bet it would trade its life for that of a Hellcat.
