G-Power Tunes the BMW M4 Coupe to 520 HP and 700 Nm

The fact that BMW’s new S55 engine is quite potent is very well known by now. The engineers, however, made sure that along with power and torque you also get reliability. In that regard, the 3-liter mill’s output was kept in check, sort of speak.

Sure, for any normal driver 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque can’t be considered ‘low’ by any means, especially on a car that weighs under 1.5 tons (3,300 lbs) but if better results can be achieved, why not?

We’ve seen some interesting tuning kits from various tuners around the world but no word from G-Power up until now. Yes, the tuner just unveiled its take on the S55 engine and it’s impressive.

Bigger numbers have been seen before but the Germans’ treatment has a holistic approach, unlike the ones that focus only on power and torque.

Speaking of which, their Bi-Tronik 5 V1 system takes the engine up to 520 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, numbers pretty darn close to what an M6 has these days (560 HP and 680 Nm / 501 lb-ft) coming from a 4.4-liter V8.

That’s not all though, as the cars taken through this treatment will also get an increased top speed up to 325 km/h (203 mph) and new G-Power 20” Hurricane RR forged wheels and a new height and pressure-adjustable coilover suspension. That’s if you want them, of course.

As far as the acceleration numbers go, we should point out that with the new power levels, the M4 becomes a beast, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds while going from zero to twice that speed takes just 11.8 seconds. Of course, the M3 can get the same treatment as it uses the same engine.
