Even though the design of the GSX-R bikes hasn't received dramatic upgrades in the last years, here's a nifty addition to the palette, in the shape of a livery that mimics the looks of the bike Maverick Vinales and his older teammate, Aleix Espargaro use on race weekends.
Suzuki is offering the blue GP livery to all three bikes in the family, the GSX-R1000, GSX-R750 and GSX-R700, so if you plan to get a new sport bike, it doesn't really matter which one you choose. Aside the inherent technical differences between these bikes, the liter-class superbike is also available in a "special special" trim.
Yoshimura adds to the overall looks, sound and performance
Suzuki sells a top-of-the-line GSX-R1000 special edition that's also equipped with a high-performance Yoshimura silencer to add even more grit to the looks of this bike. At €14,990 ($16,410, European price), it is only a tad more expensive than the €14,600 ($15,985, European price) base model, so going for the ultimate in looks and performance will not cost you an arm and a leg.
For the GSX-R750, the Suzuki Ecstar livery is available ex works, but the Yoshimura silencer remains on the optional accessories list. The 750 supersport bike comes with only two selectable drive modes as opposed to the three the liter-class machine has.
While the GSX-R1000 comes with an SET (Suzuki Exhaust Tuning) valve for tailoring the torque and response, the GSX-R750 and the 600er rely on the proven SDTV (Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve).
No RR decals are available from Suzuki, but something tells us that there will be people selling them soon. Again, even if Suzuki has not changed the tech specs of the Gixxers, this new special edition run is most likely going to becomes sold out pretty soon. And we rejoice seeing that more manufacturers decide to offer to buyers liveries that are as close as it gets to the real-deal MotoGP bikes.
