Gold wrapping is nothing new. Every rapper has at least considered it for his Bugatti Veyron or Ferrari. However, nobody has ever been rich enough to do a whole car collection in gold wrap… until now.
A convoy of trailers traveling down the highway in Saudi Arabia has been filmed recently. It shows some of the most desirable motors on the planet have been wrapped in gold for nothing more than visual kicks. Scenes from Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator or Saddam's gold-plated gun collection immediately pop to mind…

The Porsche 918 Spyder is so new and rare that we can only presume this to be the first to get any major wrap done to it. This flagship of the golden armada is supposed to retail from around €900,000, but because they're so rare, most people pay over a million to buy one.

Bringing up the heavy artillery is another Stuttgart-badged car, the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6. It costs about half as much as the Porsche hybrid supercar. This monster truck features 6x6 drive, five different mechanical locks, portal axles, tyre pressure control system and a raised suspension system that allows it to reach places where the concept of individual mobility usually bites the dust… like the middle of a desert.

Thanks to a full leather interior and AMG sporty treatment, the passengers can enjoy the highest degree of comfort, even when negotiating the worst that the combined forces of topography and meteorology can throw at them.

The Cinderellas of this story are clearly the Lamborghini Aventador and the Range Rover. Even though they're both cars normal mortals can only dream about, these two motors are two years old and have become common sights in places where the rich gather, like the Dubai, London or Paris.
