GoPro to Make Their Own Drones Next Year, Could Affect the Market

Rumors are GoPro is developing its own line of consumer drones that will obviously come with the latest high-definition cameras. According to the Wall Street Journal, who is quoting people familiar with the company’s plans, the first drones will hit the market late next year, aiming for a price tag between $500 and $1,000.

Multirotor helicopters equipped with high-performance small cameras are getting more and more popular worldwide. Daredevils around the planet (and professional drivers for that matter) use them to capture their best stunts and we’re pretty sure soon enough almost any sports enthusiast will have one. In fact, commercial drone use is on the rise in big industry as well, including film-making, farming and delivery-services.

Parrot, one of the biggest consumer drone makers on the market, has only recently unveiled their newest model, which comes with high-def video streaming. China’s DJI also launched its Phantom quadcopters early last year and as most of the big drone manufacturers they’ve experienced quite a big success.

Considering GoPro is selling its cameras with prices ranging from $200 to $500, we can only assume that the their UAVs have all the chances to brake the internet and become extremely popular in just a matter of months.

Even though there was no confirmation from the company itself so far, we don’t see any reason why the San Mateo, California-based company wouldn’t take this step.
