Amongst the heavily modified cars introduced at this year’s Essen Motor Show there were a couple that seemed rather stock. One of them was H&R’s BMW i8 but not because the guys didn’t want to tune it but rather because the car doesn’t really need to be ‘enhanced’.
Either way, since H&R are spring experts, they decided to do what they do best: change the car’s stance. While it does add to the impact it makes, changing the i8’s height also brings about more improvements.

Early reviewers said that the car feels sporty but it could be better. One of the main issues was that it leans too much in corners. Well, we can’t have that, seemingly said H&R. Therefore, they installed a set of sport lowering springs that dropped the height by 20 mm up front and 15 mm round the back.

That’s also where the company will keep working in the future to make the i8 a more capable beast on the track. They are currently developing sport stabilizers for the front and rear axle.

Since the i8 has a futuristic look already and seems to be coming straight from the next century, nothing much was changed on the outside. The only notable addition was a new set of Leggera OZ HLT light-alloy wheels painted in BMW’s unique shade of ‘i Blue’ that were pushed outward by Trak+ spacers.
