Mercedes-Benz has recently announced the AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team has partnered up with Hugo Boss, effective from 1 January 2015 onwards. The premium and luxury global apparel company will be the official supplier of Lifestyle and Formal Wear Clothing for the racing team.
Hugo Boss and Mercedes have already been working together and the Germans claim it was only natural they extend their existing co-operations into the brand’s Formula One team. According to a press release, the clothes designer will create high-performance team wear for use at the race tracks and at the team’s headquarters. The Hugo Boss branding will feature on the 2015 Silver Arrows cars and trackside collateral.

The German luxury fashion and style house will also develop a “Boss for Mercedes-Benz Collection,” inspired by the Formula One team, which will be available twice a year featuring high-end menswear fashion. Mercedes AMG Petronas are one of the most competitive teams in Formula One at the moment, with a driver pairing consisting of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. The two racers are also seen in the video teaser that announces the new partnership which you can check out below.

The fact that Hugo Boss could no longer remain McLaren's sponsor was expected by people in the industry, considering the luxury designer has several projects working with Mercedes. However, this new partnership ends a long relationship Hugo Boss had with the German's rival, McLaren.

Boss has been with McLaren since 1981, in what was one of the longest running partnerships in the sport. The British team are in their last season with Mercedes engines and will start a new partnership with Honda in 2015.
