Harleys Can Climb a Snowy Hill

For some reason, Harley-Davidson motorcycles are traditionally associated with riding at slow speed, on straight roads or with ample turns that don't threaten the chrome plating on the exhaust which may occasionally scrape against the asphalt.
Regardless of such stereotypes, many of which are sourced in the way many riders use their Harleys, Milwaukee's machines can be mean. In fact, when it comes to motorcycles, the same rule as in amateur road racing applies. After a certain point, it no longer matters how good the machine is, but how crazy the guy behind the wheel is.

Watching this video, it looks like this "rule" works perfectly. Each of us knows a lot of riders who would not get on the bike if the weather and the forecast are anything less than ideal. The prospect of rain spells dread, alongside so many other elements that may introduce a bit of hazard in the equation, such as wet leaves in the autumn, possible ice patches in the spring or fall, and so on.

Well, it looks like the fellows in this video couldn't care less about riding in inclement conditions, and snow certainly isn't on the "I won't ride if" list. Even more, seeing these guys battling in a hill climbing competition with their summer-loving machines makes everything all the more exciting.

No knobbies and no spikes, only a desire to have fun on the bike no matter what, plus the grunt that lays dormant in a Harley, seems to be a recipe that's good enough for crazy fun in the wintertime. All the more when 99% of other Harleys in the area are behind the closed doors of warm garages.

And this is not about bashing those who don't ride in less-than-perfect weather, but about admiring those who dare to have fun even in conditions others would call crazy.
