Compared to the model it replaces, the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang is one very handsome brute that's so much better than the breed of yesteryear. Even so, a 5-liter V8 with 435 ponies isn't something to get your pants on fire. That's why until development on the Shelby GT350 will finish, we're left with tuner options like the stealthy Hennessey Supercharged Mustang.
Wait, stealthy isn't the right word to describe what Mr. John Hennessey's team did with this pony. Menacing describes it much better to be honest. What's hiding under the Lockheed U-2 reconnaissance aircraft-inspired bodywork you ask?

As it's often the case with tuning packages, the visual sauce is complemented by a choice of outputs. In the Hennessey Supercharged Mustang's case, you can order it in HPE600 or HPE700 guise. The first of the lot packs a hefty 620 horsepower and 595 lb-ft (806 Nm) of twist thanks to a 2.3-liter supercharger and a generous suite of upgrades to the belly of the beast.

But I'm sure any muscle car fan will want the full-on Hennessey HPE700 package, which ups the oomph to Challenger Hellcat-competing 717 ponies and 632 lb-ft (856 Nm) of torque. All that extra grunt comes courtesy of a bigger, 2.9-liter blower and bigger everything, including gas pump, air intake, injectors and others. So what about the price? Well, it's not that expensive, all things considered.

$14,950 for the HPE600, $17,950 for the HPE700

Those prices apply only if you already have the donor vehicle, which means an extra $32,100 for the most basic of 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback, equating to a grand total of $47,050 for the HPE600 and $50,050 for the Hennessey Supercharged Mustang HPE700.

Of course, there are a lot of optional extras one can tick from the list, but the highlight comes in the form of a CarbonAero kit, which adds a rear lip spoiler, a bigger front splitter, side sills, all of them finished in good ol' carbon fiber. Aside from this $7,450 pack, customers might also be interested in lightweight alloy wheels ($6,950) and a stainless steel exhaust system ($2,450) to enjoy the full bellow of the V8.
