The following video filmed from the cab of a lorry shows how a family car driver tries to join motorway traffic between two lorries.
The drive of the Honda Civic horribly miscalculates his distances and forgets to check his right mirror. The result? A full-on collision where the car clips the front wing of the lorry, turns and smashes sideways into the extra-wide front bumper of the truck.

Despite the bizarreness of the whole incident, the professional driver manages to keep his cool under pressure and does the right thing. Instead of slamming on the brakes or swerving to the side, he gently brings the Civic to a stop on the left hard shoulder. This not only reduces the severity of what could have been a horrible accident, but also makes for a very interesting video to watch.

Dashcam footage suggests this incident took place at about 50 miles per hour (81 km/h). The Civic was pushes sideways along the highway for about 100 meters or over 300 feet before coming to a stop. Even though it only lasts a few seconds, they must have been the most terrifying in the victim's life.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon on the British M25 motorway, which is basically an orbit around the Greater London, helping heavy traffic avoid the congested city streets and reducing local pollution. It measures 117 miles (188 km) and is famous for its speed restrictions and congestion during rush hour.

As for the car, that silver hatchback is the previous Honda Civic European model. It was in production until 2011 and was put together at Honda's factory in Swindon.
