Beijing might be considering banning gorgeous models from the city’s annual auto show, but that is China. In other parts of the world, beautiful brunettes and angelic blonds are actually part of the show, heck some even perform barely legal ”lap dances” on cars. It’s definitely the case of the latest footage Alfa Romeo released, that has two dancers doing some impressive acrobatics on an Alfa Romeo 8c Spider.
We’re quite accustomed with seeing beautiful ladies flashing angelic smiles right next to the concepts car makers showcase on auto shows. Take this year’s Detroit Auto Show, for example. While we did drool over the new Ford GT or the Acura NSX, at other stands, our focus was more on the models than on the cars.
However, the images - you’ll most likely enjoy - in the video below were shot somewhere else, since we don’t really think folks in Detroit would ever allow such madness (in a good way, mind you). It’s like Alfa Romeo’s experimental convertible sportscar suddenly paled in comparison... or is it suddenly glowing?
The car itself is not bad, either. Produced in a limited edition for about three years, the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione is a sportscar quite popular since it received more orders than what the factory produced. Precisely 1,000 units were created, half coupes, half roadsters.
The official top speed is 292 km/h (181 mph) but it appears the car could go even higher. The brakes, however, were what stood out from the very beginning, with a stopping distance of 32 meters (105 ft) when traveling at an initial speed of 97 km/h (60mph). Of course, the weight of the think had one or two things to do with that as well.
For some reason Alfa Romeo decided to release this video, which almost looks like a striptease scene, not that we’re not willing to admit the two-seater is hot and all. Since there are not a lot of details around it, we believe the footage was taken somewhere in Europe, if not Ukraine or Russia. Maybe you guys can help us out with this one.
