The past Sunday at Silverstone is one of the races nobody over at LCR Honda will want to remember, as both riders failed to score any points because they both crashed. This incident is even more frustrating as both riders had a very good weekend until then.

Crutchlow went straight to Qualifying 2, and started from the eighth position on the grid, while Miller was 16th. However, the crazy wet start of the race saw Miller quickly streaking ahead through the field and being fourth before the unfortunate crash, right behind Jorge Lorenzo.

To make things even nastier, the incident took place early in the race

The incident took place early in the race, during lap three, when Miller tried to prevent Pol Espargaro from overtaking, and not trying to pass Crutchlow as some indicated in the first place. Miller tried to outbrake Espargaro and came in way too hot, being unable to steer clear from Lorenzo and Crutchlow, who both were taking the turn in front of him.

Miller's bike low-sided and wedged into Crutchlow's and both bikes slid outside the track. The Manx-based rider was able to restart his machine and even made it to the pits to swap bikes, but crashed minutes later because of the wrong setup of the bike that was prepared for dry conditions.

None of the LCR riders were injured and the bikes only sustained minor damage. The Race Direction analyzed the crash footage and decided that Miller was at fault for causing the incident, handing him one penalty point.
