If the Range Rover Evoque doesn’t suffice, the Jaguar Land Rover group has an ace up its sleeve - the 2016 Jaguar F-Pace crossover SUV. Before it makes it official live debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, the Jaguar F-Pace will run in the Tour de France 2015, supporting Team Sky.
The Coventry-based manufacturer isn’t spilling the beans we are so anxious to know about, but we’re told that the F-Pace features in the adjacent video and photographs is a test mule. A prototype. A work in progress. They’re not fooling anyone - this is a pre-production 2016 Jaguar F-Pace and here’s why.

First of all, look at the camouflage. No the design or pattern, but the extremely thin wrap meant to hide a production-spec Jaguar F-Pace body shell. Then there’s the front bumper’s tame design, which is extremely different from the front fascia of the Jaguar C-X17 Concept. Then there’s a still image with the boot compartment of the soon-to-debut performance SUV.

Lastly, one still features a mildly camouflaged interior. In the latter’s case, the front side windows are visually enhanced by an airplane window-inspired curvature where the upper part of the glass meets with the B-pillar and roofline. A further detail that may interest prospective buyers is the availability of a panoramic glass roof. Is there anything else worth discussing?

Why yes! We can see a tiny camera located just above the Jaguar badge up front, the type of video camera that gives Jaguar’s newest product a 360-degree view of the curbs and other things you mustn’t scrape those pretty wheels. Riding on the iQ[Al] aluminum intensive architecture, the 2016 Jaguar F-Pace will be available with a manual or ZF auto and a choice of 2-liter turbo petrol and diesel engines, as well as the 3-liter supercharged V6 petrol from the F-Type. Word on the street is an all-electric F-Pace will debut by 2018.
